Jerome Powell Shares His NBA Playoff Predictions

New York - Federal Reserve Chair Jerome Powell took a break from his usual focus on monetary policy and inflation to share his predictions for the upcoming NBA playoffs.Speaking to reporters at a press conference on Tuesday, Powell expressed his enthusiasm for the postseason, which is set to begin this weekend.

"I've been following the NBA closely this season, and I'm really excited to see how the playoffs unfold," Powell said. "There are some great matchups and talented teams that I think will make for an entertaining and competitive postseason."

When asked for his specific predictions, Powell did not hold back, offering his picks for each of the first-round series.

"I think the Bucks and Celtics will have an epic battle in the East, while out West, the Clippers and Nuggets could produce some classic games," Powell said. "And don't sleep on the Kings - they've had a great season and I could see them pulling off an upset."

While Powell's predictions may raise some eyebrows, the Fed chair insisted that his basketball expertise is just as reliable as his economic forecasting.

"Look, I know my day job is running the Federal Reserve, but I'm also a huge NBA fan," Powell said with a smile. "So you can take these picks to the bank - just like my interest rate decisions."
