Washington - Tulsi Gabbard is calling for the prosecution of former President Barack Obama, claiming that the Obama administration played a direct role in perpetuating what she describes as the "Epstein hoax."
The allegations stem from the ongoing conspiracy theories surrounding the death of financier and convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein, who was found dead in his New York jail cell in August 2019. While the official cause of death was ruled a suicide by hanging, numerous high-profile figures, including Gabbard, have suggested foul play was involved—particularly given Epstein’s extensive connections with prominent political and business elites.
Gabbard, a former Democratic Congresswoman from Hawaii and a prominent critic of the establishment, took to social media this week to issue a scathing critique of Obama’s alleged role in covering up Epstein’s activities. She claimed that the former president, who was often photographed with Epstein, knew far more than he has publicly acknowledged regarding the financier's alleged criminal activities.
Gabbard, who gained national attention during her run for president in 2020, has long positioned herself as an outsider in the Democratic Party, often taking stances at odds with the party’s establishment wing. In recent years, she has taken aim at the party's ties to powerful elites, asserting that many members of the political class are complicit in corruption and cover-ups. Her recent remarks are seen by many as an escalation in her vocal criticism of the former president and his inner circle.
In a tweet that went viral, Gabbard wrote: “The Epstein cover-up isn't just about what happened to him—it’s about those who protected him. It's time for Barack Obama and others in the elite circles to be held accountable for their involvement in this massive scandal. They should be prosecuted if they were complicit in this hoax.”
Gabbard’s comments have reignited debates over Epstein’s mysterious death and its aftermath. Many of her supporters believe that Gabbard is merely echoing the frustrations of those who believe that Epstein’s network of powerful connections must be thoroughly investigated and exposed.
Former President Obama has not publicly responded to Gabbard’s remarks, and it is unlikely that any formal prosecution will occur based on the current evidence available. Legal experts have largely dismissed claims of a "hoax," asserting that Epstein's death was ruled a suicide by the authorities and that there is no substantial proof of a broader conspiracy involving Obama or other political figures.
The case surrounding Jeffrey Epstein continues to captivate the public’s imagination. Investigations into his alleged sex trafficking network have implicated numerous powerful figures, although many of the details remain murky. Epstein’s former associates, including Ghislaine Maxwell, were convicted for their roles in the exploitation of young girls, but the full extent of Epstein’s operations and the involvement of other high-profile figures remains a topic of intense debate.
