Washington, D.C. — In a stumbling press conference today, President Joe Biden apparently forgot the main subject.
“I am proud to announce that my administrative is set to forget, uh, forget, and I don't wanna, I don't wanna, let me be, choose my words,” began Biden, 81.
At that point a staffmember whispered to the commander-in-chief:
“Yes, I'm sorry,” he continued. “We are forgetting student debt for millions of young Americans. Which is not at all like forgetting where you left your keys!” he joked.
Republican frontrunner and de facto nominee Donald Trump immediately lashed out at his Presidential rival. “My memory is like an iron trap,” he said. “Do you remember when I said that Mexico would pay for the wall? Do you remember when I said I’d pass a great infrastructure bill? Do you remember when I said we’d get rid of Obamacare and replace it with something better? Well, I do!”
Education policy experts have commended the President’s efforts to remember student debt relief while noting the need address the root causes of rising tuition costs and explore long-term solutions.
